Shouldn't it be equally bad for women to cheat as it is for men to cheat?

People get so angry at women when they cheat on their husbands. Some men even think cheating women should be beaten or murdered. Both American White men and Muslim men want to murder women for committing adultery. But men are given a slap on the wrist if they cheat or have mistresses. Is there a double standard?
