I heard that lightning is produced when negative charges of clouds coming down to ground & positive charges of ground going upward connect with each other...If this is true then how come most of the time lightning only strikes trees or any tall objects??? why not car, house or surface where there's nothing...

How do i calculate power consumption for an adapter?

For example i have an adaptor Input 100v-230v @0.5A Output 5v @2A Cost $1 / kWh lets say it runs on full load for an hour with input measure @100v 0.5A (20W) Where output @5v 2A (10W) input consume 20W ouput produce 10W which one do i use to calculate the cost per hour?
