The sum of two numbers is 13 and the difference is 9. Find the two numbers?

Hi. I saw this question a while back and one user posted his method which was much quicker: The larger number is (13 + 9)/2 = 11 The smaller number is (13 - 9)/2 = 2 Can someone explain to me why this works? I don't understand https://imgur.com/a/nOJUsuy

Is it a poor diet choice to eat mini pies every day for lunch?

In grocery shopping, I buy a box of frozen mini pies and cook 4-5 for lunch, every day. I have them with home-made gravy and a can of Pepsi. Most days, I have this for lunch. Is this OK to eat regularely or not really healthy?
