What many students and professors probably think of those older people attending their classes? why?

remember seeing people in their late 40s and 50s and older even attending my English Comp . class when I was 18. and they acted very polite and serious and friendly, but I thought.. "what are you doing here?" what they were probably thinking and why?

It's under the skin and small, and it feels hard, kind of like a pebble. I read online that if lumps are hard and immovable as opposed to soft and easily moved, they might be cancer.
