Would pouring hot water onto a cold rock make the rock hotter?

So in this scenario I'm wondering if hot water pouring onto a rock would make the rock hotter than the water? Rock tends to heat up more in the sun, in my experience, so I'm curious if it conducts heat better or something. A detailed explanation would be appreciated.
