Why do I keep seeing white butterflies fly near me every time I leave the house?

This is very unusual. About a week ago, I lost my aunt. Ever since then I keep seeing white butterflies, they follow my mom, brother and I to the car. Today, I went to the pool and 2 white butterflies flew above us. Could this be my aunt visiting us? What does this mean?

How would you solve this math problem about finding the shaded area?

In the figure, the length of the side of the smaller square is 12 centimeters and the length of the side of the bigger square is 15 centimeters. Find the shaded area. The answer says it should be 12 x 12 x 1/2 = 72 cm^2, but I don't see how to get this answer.
