Why is the 24st of June, labelled as the longest day? Does it have more hours, or is it just that there is more sunshine in the day?

    In Britain and Europe it is ether the 21st or 22nd of June, depending on the position in the Leap year cycle. Mathematicasdly it cannot be 24th of June anywhere on Earth.

    There may, or may not, be actual sunlight, but it's the longest period between official sunrise and sunset times.

    It's June 4th. It has to do with the Normandy Invasion on 6/4/1944. The allies invasion was the onset of the push for the end of world war II.
