Your sleeping habits won't make any difference. Typically, "IV sedation" means the patient is only *sedated or tranquilized, not fully asleep. Discuss the procedure with your doctor to clarify what will occur.

IV sedation is inducing your sleep. You are being monitored and given oxygen under sedation. Once the sedation wears off you would start to wake up.
