They are more likely to abuse drugs and alcohol than women and less likely to get help for mental health issues.

It is not more common among men. Men who attempt suicide use painful and lethal means. Women usually want a painless death and thus it is less effective.

Women are, perhaps, trying to get some help. The men? They just want to die.
