Wealth makes it a lot easier to laugh and enjoy humor. Nothing is funny when you are living in poverty.

Life itself is easier with money. Having a sense of humor can help stress, but it can also just mask it, and the stress still affects you. Life is probably better with money, because you can avoid a lot of the things that stress you in the first place.

Many of life's problems have nothing to do with money. A sense of humor is very useful to keep things in perspective. Best would be some of both.
