What does it mean on death certificate when approximate intervel of onset and time of death is minutes?

A friend of mines son was shot and killed and on his death certificate it says aproximent intervel between onset and time of death is minutes. Does that mean he died minutes after the bullet hit him?

Its the time of death.

It means a rough idea of the time he took to die, from when he was shot. If your wording is accurate, then it would seem to be only a few minutes.
