Sex had become painful for my wife and the doctors offered no solution for the problem so we simply stopped having sex. I think that was about 15 years ago. I would not expect my sweetheart to endure pain for the sake of my pleasure.

Rather depends on how often you want it. And yes, of course age is a factor. A month is a long time for some 15 year olds and Five years might be for a 70 year old. If you like sex daily then two months IS a long time.

No, two months isn't a long time. Update: What does your age have to do with anything? Two months is the same amount of time, whether you're 20 or you're 80. You're 20 years old, not 20-years-old (you don't have to hyphenate it).
