Why do autistic people not like too much sound?

my mom babysits an autistic kid and if things like we talk to loud or the tv it to loud he covers his ears, why does he do that, does it hurt?

turn on some music...now put on a movie..now start a conversation with someone..or just put on more vic

that is only some....it is sensory processing disorder...for some, the sounds are very loud...much louder than typical people perceive them. yes it can be painful.

Not all autistic people are the same. Loud noise bother hims. Yes it could hurt. I am not autistic. I don’t like the tv on in the mornings. The noise it very irritating to me.
