If they are really 1000s if satellites in orbit why don’t they crash into each other?

Space is very big and satellites are small. If you ever watched a ballgame from another city on tv or made a long distance phone call, you have used a satellite.

Sometimes they do, but there's an awful lot of room up there so usually they don't.
