The gender wage gap is just a comparison of what men and women make. Men tend to work harder jobs and work longer hours.

I have no idea where you're from, but in the work world today women make 20% more than men at the same job. Where I worked female project managers made a LOT MORE than their vice president bosses.

Yes, a company can charge whatever they like per worker. It is only decency to make the pay equal - not law.

No, it is not legal to pay women less for equal work. It’s illegal under the equal pay act of 1963. Men and women overall do not do equal work, so therefore we don’t see overall equal pay as reflected by the gender pay gap.
