the translation of y=f(x) down k units --->y=f(x)-k

    You are translating by the vector (0, - 4) So the equation will be g(x) = f(x) - 4 = 7x + 3 - 4 = 7x - 1

    if g(x) is f(x) translated downward 4 units, then for any given value of x, g(x) = f(x) - 4 g(x) = 7x+3 - 4 = 7x - 1

    f(x) = 7x - 1 For a function of the form: f(x) = mx + c m, is the gradient and c is the vertical displacement.
