It will appear as a bright pale pinkish dot. It will be brighter than any star or any other planet except Venus.

Mars is currently looking less red than usual, more of a washed out pale orange, due to the on going planet-wide dust storm. That is almost certain to continue well past July 31.

Mars looks incredible right now, a bright red, earning its epithet as The Red Planet. Mars never looks white.

It's visible now, as a reddish dot. Look towards the south after about 10 PM. http://www.nakedeyeplanets.com/mars-path...

Mars is ALWAYS visible as a Red Planet. I have never seen it as a white dot. You look at it closely and it is RED.

Mars will be a bright reddish orange starlike light in the sky. With a telescope, you can see a disk and some surface markings.
