    (x3 + 3x2 - 1)(x3 - 2x + 4) = (x3)(x3 - 2x + 4) + (3x2)(x3 - 2x + 4) - (1)(x3 - 2x + 4) = x6 + 3x5 - 2x4 - 3x3 + 12x2 + 2x -4

Make a tic tac toe grid. Put one trinomial horizontal and one vertical. Multiply like in a multiplication table and fill in all 9 boxes. Then add them all together. Remember to combine like-terms.
