Jesus did not begin Christianity, The early followers of Jesus began Christianity. Christianity was instead started by Paul, in order to salvage his career as a missionary for the Jewish sect that Jesus had started.

Jesus, the Ever Living Christ, was an ethnic Jew, and followed all the practices of that faith, knowing the texts and what they meant far better than 100 scholars of his day when he was 13, as the story of the family visit to Jerusalem relates.
