I saw this math problem in a movie and haven t been able to solve it. Is it even possible?

25 years ago, Arthur was 5 years more than a third of Robert s age. Today, Robert is 26 years less than twice Arthur s age. How old is Robert?

(A-25) = 5 + (R-25)/3 3A-75 = 15 + R-25 = R-10 R = 3A - 65 = 2A - 26 Arthur = 39 years Robert = 52 years

I don't see what's so hard about this. Arthur is now 39, and Robert is 52. Then 25 years ago, they were 14 and 39, and 27. And certainly 14 is 5 more than 9. Today, 52 +26 is78, which is twice 39.
