scientists have explored this possibility and their is nothing to prevent it

It's entirely possible... Then, we should feel lucky we *are* only seeing one of them - who knows what terrors the others would hold...

So what if there were? If we cannot see them or detect them in any way - then it makes absolutely no difference to us in any way.
