Do different cells have different genes?

      Anonymous They all have the same genes, but different genes are active in different cell types.

      Anonymous The genes in your cells aren't the same as the genes in a purple halobacterium cell, if that's what you're asking.

      Anonymous Most cells of the same organism/animal/plant all have the same genes, but use different ones. It's like cooks (organs) having the same recipe-book but not preparing the same dish. Like L.N. , Morningfox and the anon say, there are some exceptions
