Bananas have been selectively bred to produce a fruit with more desirable characteristics. So has corn and watermelon and many other fruits and vegetables. They haven't been genetically modified in the manner of adding foreign genes into the plant.

GMO's are present depending on what company your buying from. Your question is flawed because you can buy all types of fruits or vegetables with or without the presence of genetic modifications. Classifying an entire type of fruit or veggie to whether or not they have GMO's is generalizing. You can research the company you buy your fruits or vegetables from to see if they have used the process of GMO's. Either way, GMO's are 100% safe and someone says otherwise, they clearly lack a basic scientific understanding on GMO's.
