Frequent Urination? Please help?

Last couple days, I’ve had to go to the bathroom about 8-10 times a day including a couple times at night. I hadn’t my blood work done couple weeks ago and my A1c was 6.2 and my fasting glucose was 92. Is it due to prediabetes? Or something else?

I am diabetic and my last a1c was lower than yours and your fasting glucose is on the higher end of normal so could be start of pre diabetes but ask your doctor as it could be a uti

There could be many reasons for your frequent urination. Drinking/eating more fruits/veggies or others food in general, that contain more liquids than you normally consume. Could be due to a UTI or other infection, some med/drug reaction (prescription or otherwise) , weather related. Some people urinate more often when they are warmer or cooler, even without drinking more fluids. Your bladder is not emptying when you do go, making it seem like your are going more often. To find out if it has anything to with pre-diabetes, an infection or diabetes, it is time to go see your doctor, because guessing at what it could be, won't get you any closer to dealing with it. Why. Because nothing a stranger tells you that it could be will make it stop 5 seconds after you read it.

Certain foods and beverages can encourage increased urination – coffee, tea, and caffeinated soft drinks in particular.

This is just a personal observation - I was diagnosed with diabetes with an a1c of 10.1 and a random glucose test of about 245 and I had no symptoms yet. It seems to me that your numbers are too low for the urination to be from your glucose levels. I'm buying the UTI idea mentioned by others.

The only way to know if your increased urination is related to a change in your sugar levels is to test your sugar levels on days when it is happening. Using a home meter, you can get an idea if your sugar levels are high enough to be causing that increase. Take a fasting sugar test and test two hours after meals. If you start catching readings that are going over 200, then your increased urination MIGHT be related to your sugar levels. If your sugar levels are staying below 200, then it is not likely sugar levels causing your urination. I PLACE A HUGE EMPHASIS ON MIGHT BE THE CAUSE SINCE THERE ARE MANY REASONS FOR FREQUENT URINATION AND EACH PERSON REACTS SLIGHTLY DIFFERENTLY TO HIGHER SUGAR LEVELS. But, overall, a person without diabetic issues will stay below 200 and will have no diabetic symptoms. When sugar levels go above 200 and stay high, that is when symptoms related to diabetes would begin to become noticeable. If your doctor placed you on medication because of the 6.2 A1C reading, then you might also be reacting to that medication.
