Should schools do a better job at deterring kids from smoking and doing drugs ?

I am 15 year old female and last year they showed a lame video of kids smoking and doing drugs and they acted like its all the same. Its like " oh come on thats not even fair to compare a cigarette smoker to an opiate addicted alley slut'.
