Is it possible to finish a college semester before everyone else in your class?

I really want to finish this semester ahead of everyone else so I can spend more time with my family overseas in December. Do you think it would be possible to get my teachers to give me my assignments ahead of time or if I can finish assignments early? Has anyone finished a college course before everyone else?...
