Is wood with vents a bad amplifier enclosure material?if so why?

Hi I am building an basic amp(its only 100watt 2 channels) with a tone board.I would like to make the enclosure /cabinet fully with wood.but its usually not recommended as wood is not good at heat dissipation.what are other cons of using wood as enclosure? What are your opinions?
