If US government admits to Extraterrestrials visting Earth would it upset people world view?

Some would welcome it, but others would probably go Haywire Humans will be Humans

It could undermine the whole religious belief system and without naming religions some of them might take it a bit hard. I doubt ISIS will be queing up to meet them (unless they have something strapped to them).

They would have to show some evidence, not just say it. Anybody can say anything.

How about if another country produces the same evidence, and the U.S. didn't have anything? Would that shake your world view.
