It can certainly feel that way to the person suffering and wanting escape. One has to be skilled and knowledgeable if they attempt to rescue someone in that condition.

How is stopping a mentally unwell incapacitated person from taking their life- the most precious gift- selfish? The damage and trauma it causes their family and friends is massive too.
