Resistor heating up connected to 24 LEDs which are connected in parallel?

A 5V DC is supplied to 6 ohm resistor which is then connected to 24 LEDs that are parallel to each other, the resistor heats up like its going to explode. Is there another away around to use 24 LEDs in parallel supplied by 5V?
