Why do women mostly avoid men who are highly intelligent and have multiple hobbies and interests?

I mostly get laughed at when I tell women that I play the cello in an orchestra after work for leisure time, or that I am into painting and reading about science and mathematics, mostly biology and statistics/machine learning applications

Highly intelligent women don't laugh at this. If you're "mostly" being laughed at, it's because of the women you're talking to.

Maybe because they fear they will get involved with a guy who’s too busy farting around with hobbies to help raise kids keep a house in order?

Definitely they are the ones who are narrow minded. They are afraid of someone that they can't dominate; and maybe they want to be the masculine one in the relationship.
