Why can't we hitch a ride on a tachyon?

They travel faster than light and we can get everywhere in the universe really fast. C'mon scientists..

It would be great if we could catch one

If they do exist ;it is thought they would have a negative or imaginary mass (imaginary numbers)

If tachyons do exist and you could interact with them, you could send a message into the past. This violates causality.

You can't hitch a ride on something unless (1) it stops, which tachyons can't do, or (2) you match its speed, which we can't do because we're not made of tachyons.

Even if tachyons do exist, we could not interact with them.

Go to college, and figure that out. You'll be rich, famous, and get to travel the universe.

Because they don't exist. Nothing goes faster than light.

Well, they don't exist, and... that's only the first problem.

A tachyon is a hypothetical particle. Until confirmed it doesn't exist. And just how would you expect to 'hitch a ride' on one.

If you think it's so easy, why don't you do it and become immortalized in history?
