Pre-Calculus: Vectors (Magnitude) help?

3 answers

If vector v = 3i + 2j, and vector w = -2i - 2j, find the magnitude of vector (-3v - 3w) Thank you advance! Couldn't quite figure this one out on my own.

    -3*(v + w) v + w = i; |-3i| = 3

    -3v = -9i-6j -3w = 6i+6j Total = -3i+0j Magnitude = 3

    rule v = <a,b> w=<c,d> αv + βw = <αa + βc , αb + βd> , with α, β ∈ R
