I bought a celestron nexstar 130SLT. I'm finding it hard to set up the star align and does it move side to side?

I've tried setting up the star align section, I just can't seem to geto the right star or it's the timezone setting. Then it doesn't move side to side only up and down, do I have to do the alignment thing then it's able to move side to side or not?

Sounds like the azimuth clutch isn't tightened. Or, the gearing isn't engaged.
