Was engineer. Met a lot of them that I wondered either way. But most seem qualified to be MENSA members. There are several other organizations that have even higher qualifications.

No. Typical engineer has IQ 125, so about half of engineers are in the top 5% of IQ. Hence, only about 10% of engineers would be likely to qualify for entrance to Mensa. And most of them would be too busy to bother with it !
