No gnat can kill that way. It might be possible if the bug is big enough, or venomous somehow. Pretty rare event, I presume. I have never heard of anyone dying that way.

Not if all of it comes back out in one piece, and it didn't bite or sting you

No. More likely the bug dies if it gets to the sinuses. Had a bee stuck in my nose once,poor thing died trying to get it out.

Perhaps you might die if it weren't a gnat, but some exotic venomous insect instead.

Of course you can die, but only slowly and painfully after much pain and seizure activity.
