    Absolutely. Fighting one virus/bacteria hits your immune system pretty hard. That's why people with immunodeficiencies can die from a common cold. One thing leads to another, but it sounds like you'll be alright.

    Yes it is. They are two different infections. Strep throat is usually bacterial and a cold is viral. Also when you were fighting the strep throat, your immune system is compromised which made you prone to picking up more infections.
