Can modern animals be the dinosaurs of today?

The evolutionary ancestor of dinosaurs are birds so technically birds are living dinosaurs

Yes. Modern animals have evolved to similar niches of the dinosaurs. We have some large animals like giraffes and elephants that grew large.

Not sure what you mean, but dinosaurs are animals, as are mammals. Mammals make up the megafauna of today, just like dinosaurs did years ago. Birds are the most diverse vertebrate species on land, and they are classified as theropod dinosaurs.

Not the "animals," but definitely the birds are descendants of the dinosaurs. Some birds look very much like dinos in fact. Find a picture of the Cassowary bird. It looks very dinosaur, especially its feet.
