I checked the dictionary. Abroad = in or to a different country. But I am confused because "in" is not correct. For example: I am going TO a different country. I am right?! Please help me if you can know.

You can say "the student is studying abroad" which means "the student is studying IN another country"

It depends upon how you use the word: "I am ABROAD" means I am IN a different country. "I am going ABROAD" means I am going TO a different country.
