Is taking Pre-Calculus before AP Statistics a bad idea?

No, but they aren't directly related. Pre-Calc is the "normal" step between Algebra II/Trig and Calculus. Stats are Stats and don't really rely on either algebra or calculus.

No. --- Pre-Calc is just a more intense Algebra class, maybe with some Trig included.
