Why did species with fingers and toes all agree on 5?

No response

Even whales, dolphins, and bats all have 5 digits. Even non-mammals, like reptiles and amphibians, with digits have 5. What is it about that? How did none evolve to have 6 or any other amount? It's either 5 or 0! Why?
