Why do I feel depressed when I'm drunk?

So I read online that alcohol WITHDRAWAL worsens depression but for me, I feel when I'm actually drunk. I don't understand why because I thought it was supposed to make you happy and relaxed but it doesn't work for me.

Everyone always reacts different to alcohol. I actually feel happy and very relaxed when drinking :)
