How are metal crucible made and what holds that metal crucible while it is being made?

How are the crucible they use to make metal made. What metal is the hardest and metal crucible do they use to elt that metal?

Tungsten melts at the highest temperature of metals. But that is so much more difficult to form, and more expensive to use, rarely will it be a crucible for other metals.

Up to about 1000C they are made of clay and some are graphite. Induction melting uses graphite. Over that temperature they are porcelain.

Ceramics have a very high melting point, thousands of degrees, much higher than any metal. They are transparent to electro-magnetic induction which is used to melt them.
