It is a liberal state and it seems almost anything goes. There very likely are many lesbians there since it's accepted as natural there.

There are lots of people in San Francisco and it would be fun to ride a trolley car there and see the ocean and other things and my daughter went there and told me that old San Francisco had now San Francisco built right on top of it.

Because they feel more accepted there than some other places. Like, people don't refer to them by mean names. People don't much like being hated, especially for things they can't control.
