    Suppose that it the reaction of formation of ethanal (formaldehyde). CO + H₂ → CH₂O Mole ratio CO : H₂ = 1 : 1 When 5.0 moles of CO completely reacts, H₂ needed = (5.0 mol) × (1/1) = 5.0 mol < 7.5 mol H₂ is in excss. Hence, CO is limiting reactant.
