What is your question? The shorted component might as well be a piece of wire (in theory). A shorted semiconductor may have some resistance. What is the component that is shorted?

This is not a question and I have a hunch you do not understand what "shorted component" means. Shorted means the circuits by-passes the component. Do you mean open component, ie the circuit path is broken?

Voltage across shorted component = 0 Volts and Short circuit current = total circuit current.
