Archimedes' Principle?
1 answer
A balloon having a mass of 120kg and volume 400m³ is filled with the helium gas of density 0.18kg/m³. The density of the surrounding air is 1.28 kg/m³. Find the acceleration for the balloon to more upwards. I need explanation for it, I used F = ma

The "liftability" is (1.28 - 0.18) x 400m^3 = 440'kg'. (440 - 120) = net 320'kg'. (320 x g) = 3,136N. accelerating force. Initial acceleration = (f/m) = (3,136/120) = 26.1m/sec^2, but then drag kicks in.
