    V = Vo+a*t = 10+2.5*8 = 30 m/sec (quite impossible for a train ^_- )

    Change in speed = acceleration * time Add the change in speed to the initial speed.

    v = u + at v = 10 + 2.5 x 8 v = 10 + 20 v = 30 m/s
