Seems all creatures fear and avoid death - so probably we're no different. It's natural, I'd say, social influence or not.

For most humans,Yes. But for some they see death as eternal peace.

Most everyone fears death. The only time they don't is when they are happy with the life they've lived and are ready to move on to whatever comes next. Or maybe they feel like their life will never be good and want to move on early.

these days yes. we don't die for anything important these days makes living ... just seem in vain. oddly as you get older you get less scared. and more of a brick of releaf.
