Heres the question, i cant wrap my head around the concept, can anyone help? The mean of a set of 5 scores is 62. What is the new mean of the set of scores after a score of 14 is added?

(62(5) + 14)/6 = new mean (310 + 14)/6 = 324/6 = 54 Mean = average. If the mean us 62 among 5 scores then the total score is 62(5) = 310. If a score of 14 is added then it’s 310 + 14 =‘324. The mean would be 324/6 since there are 6 scores.
